Caring for and Healing the Earth

Caretaker Society

Some individuals who attended the Caretaker class of Nov 2001 at the Tracker School have formed a "Caretaker Society".

Here is the statement of purpose of this society:

"We are a group of individuals from many different paths that have felt the pain and destruction of Earth Mother for far too long. We are extremely passionate about caring for the Earth, and leaving a better world for the future generations.

Grandfather Stalking Wolf believed that one of our main purposes in life is being a Caretaker for the Earth, one of our greatest gifts. The basis of caretaking is healing and caring for the damage that has been done to Earth Mother, in addition to preventing further damage and helping to restore the natural balance to the temples of creation.

Pine Barrens of New Jersey is an irreplaceable natural area of tremendous beauty that houses many diverse ecosystems. These lands are sacred to Grandfather Stalking Wolf, Tom Brown Jr., the Tracker School Staff, and also to so many of us students that have had the opportunity to learn from and connect with them.

During the 2001 Caretaker class our eyes were opened to the ongoing abuse and destruction of these sacred areas and the Earth as a whole. With the tools that Tom has shared with us we are no longer able to sit back watching and feeling helpless. We all have our areas at home that we caretake, but we also feel the need to continue to caretake these sacred areas and help to continue the legacy Grandfather Stalking Wolf left for the future generations. This is our main focus as a group, caretaking the lands that have touched us and taught us in innumerable ways."
